(Photo by Phubas Faites)A woman who fell while collecting wild mushrooms in mountainous forest in Sukhothai's Muang district is recovering after rescuers carried her several kilometres through arduous terrain to safety. The tumble left the 53-year-old villager, later identified as Khemphon Sombun, lying helpless about 5km deep into the forest. She said the resident of Ban Dan Lan Hoi had gone into the mountainous forest to gather mushrooms and wild vegetables to sell. The jungle was so dense, she said, she was forced to use a knife to clear a path - at one point losing her balance on a steep slope left slippery after the heavy rainfall in the province.
